We offer the following classes and have an agreement with a private range in Bowie, Maryland to use their facilities. We can make other arrangements if necessary, but please note that the cost may change. The prices shown are per person, although we do offer family and group discounts. Also, there will be NO live ammunition allowed in the classroom under any circumstances.
All class durations are approximate, as the intent is to cover the material so the student understands it, not to adhere to an arbitrary time standard. Classes longer than 8 hours will be split into an additional day or evenings, as mutually agreed on. Classroom portions may also be split into smaller sessions if needed.
Please note that students in classes involving handguns must be 21 years of age or older, and must not be barred by law from possessing or using a handgun.

NRA Basic Pistol
This class provides classroom and hands-on time. The class covers firearm safety, major semi-auto pistol and revolver component names and functions, storage and transport of pistols, cleaning, and selection of a pistol for particular uses. Proper grip, aiming, trigger control, and breath control are taught and practiced. Students use a 9mm semi-automatic pistol for the live fire portion of the class. The firearm and ammunition needed for the live fire portion are provided by Ashinco, LLC, as is the required eye and hearing protection. The cost includes a student book, ammunition, use of a pistol, and range fees. The class is offered with the classroom either as an online learning experience or an in-person experience and requires 8-10 hours. While this class is a stand-alone class, it is also a prerequisite for the NRA Personal Protection in the Home course.

NRA Personal Protection in the Home
This class requires that applicants have passed the NRA Basic Pistol Class, and builds on the foundations learned in that class. Students develop further skills, including how cover and concealment may be used in defensive situations, and the differences between defensive and recreational (target) shooting. Live fire exercises include shooting from behind concealment, shooting one handed, and balancing speed against accuracy.
The firearm and ammunition needed for the live fire portion can be provided by Ashinco, LLC, as can be the required eye and hearing protection. The student may elect to bring their own pistol and protective equipment, subject to a review of the suitability of the items by the instructor and subsequent approval. Students may also bring their own ammunition, provided it is new, not reloaded, and the firearm is designed to use the particular cartridge selected. This class is typically about 16 hours.
You must have successfully completed the NRA Basic Pistol course to take Personal Protection in the Home. This class is a prerequisite for the Personal Protection Outside the Home course.
The cost of $175.00 includes a student book, ammunition, use of a pistol, and range fees.
The cost of $150.00 is if the student provides their own pistol, ammunition, and protective equipment.
NRA Personal Protection Outside the Home
This class builds on the techniques and mindset taught in Personal Protection in the Home, and extends the training to outdoor scenarios. Most of the 16-hour class is taught on the range, and students may expect to expend over 100 cartridges. Use of cover and concealment are expanded on, shooting in low light conditions and under other adverse conditions are taught. Drawing from a concealed holster is a mainstay of the course, with safety being again the major component of each exercise.
The firearm and ammunition needed for the live fire portion can be provided by Ashinco, LLC, as can be the required eye and hearing protection. The student may elect to bring their own pistol and protective equipment, subject to a review of the suitability of the items by the instructor and subsequent approval. Students may also bring their own ammunition, provided it is new, not reloaded, and the firearm is designed to use the particular cartridge selected. The use of kneepads is strongly encouraged, although not required. You must have successfully completed the NRA Personal Protection in the Home before taking this course.

Utah Concealed Carry Permit
The state of Utah issues concealed carry permits to residents of that state as well as non-residents. Utah permits are accepted by many states, although not Maryland. Attending and passing this class is a prerequisite for applying for a concealed carry permit issued by the state of Utah. We also offer the necessary fingerprinting for an additional fee, although students may have their fingerprints taken by any number of businesses or law enforcement agencies. Please note that successful completion of the class does not guarantee the student will meet the requirements for a Utah concealed carry permit, as completing the class is only one of several requirements.
This class provides the required instruction in firearm safety, the Utah laws related to firearms, applicable Federal firearm laws, storage and transport, cleaning, basics of firearms and ammunition, and includes a live-fire module. The firearm and ammunition needed for the live fire portion are either provided by Ashinco, LLC, as is the required eye and hearing protection, or the student, subject to instructor review and permission, may bring their own firearm, new (no reloaded) ammunition, and eye and hearing protection. The class is approximately 6 hours in duration.

Maryland HQL – Initial Purchase
This class is a prerequisite to being able to purchase a handgun in Maryland, unless the prospective buyer passed the class within the last three years, or is active or retired military, or active or retired law enforcement. The class consists of classroom instruction in Maryland laws regarding purchasing, owner responsibilities, storage, transport, and care of the handgun. Basic handgun nomenclature is also discussed, and firearm safety is heavily emphasized. The class also includes a required live fire exercise. The firearm and ammunition needed for the live fire portion are provided by Ashinco, LLC, as is the required eye and hearing protection. This class is a minimum of 4 hours in duration.

Maryland HQL – Initial Wear and Carry Permit
This course is a minimum of 16 hours duration divided into (2) 8-hour days. Participants learn basic handgun nomenclature, safety, and applicable laws regarding transportation, storage, and use of deadly force as pertains to Maryland. Additionally, firearm cleaning, basic maintenance, loading and unloading, sight alignment, shooting positions, dry fire and range practice are included. There is a required course of fire that will require participants to fire a minimum of 25 rounds. Security professionals will fire a minimum of 50 rounds for their particular course of fire. Participants must achieve a passing score as well as demonstrate safe firearm handling on the live fire portion to successfully complete the course. There will be no live ammunition in the classroom. This course assumes the participant has received basic firearm training.
Candidates are encouraged to bring their own strong-side waistband holster, extra magazines, firearm and ammunition, with the understanding that the holster, ammunition and firearm must be approved by Ashinco, LLC before being used. We are looking at the holster primarily to ensure it is appropriate for the class and fits the firearm properly. We inspect the ammunition, magazines, and firearms to ensure they are safe to use and the ammunition is appropriate for the magazine and firearm. We can also provide a holster, magazines, ammunition and/or a firearm for an additional fee. Please contact us if you want us to provide our equipment.
Cost is $250 per person, not including rental of equipment if needed.
Maryland HQL – Wear and Carry Permit Renewal
This course is a minimum of 8 hours in duration and is intended for participants who need to recertify to renew their existing wear and carry permit. It covers the same material as the Initial Wear and Carry Permit course, but more briefly. As with the initial course, there is a live fire module where participants must demonstrate handgun proficiency and safety to successfully pass the test.
Candidates are encouraged to bring their own strong-side waistband holster, extra magazines, firearm and ammunition, with the understanding that the holster, ammunition and firearm must be approved by Ashinco, LLC before being used. We are looking at the holster primarily to ensure it is appropriate for the class and fits the firearm properly. We inspect the ammunition, magazines, and firearms to ensure they are safe to use and the ammunition is appropriate for the magazine and firearm. NRA Range Safety Officer
This course provides the necessary instruction and hands-on training needed to become an NRA-certified range safety officer. Instruction includes firearm safety, various aspects of maintaining safety on indoor and outdoor ranges, assessing and clearing common firearm malfunctions, and typical range emergency procedures. The instruction is a blend of lecture, role-playing to practice responding to different situations, and hands-on firearms familiarization using pistols, rifles, shotguns, and muzzleloaders. This course does not have a live-fire component. The course is typically about 10 hours long. Students will be provided a copy of the NRA Range Safety Officer student workbook.

NRA Refuse To Be A Victim
This course is for people who wish to gain a better understanding of factors that affect their personal safety, as well as the safety of friends and family. Topics include home safety, safety while traveling, safety for students, safety for elderly living away from home, and discussions regarding identity theft. Various mitigation strategies are discussed, as well as some easily obtained devices that may be used to reduce risk. The topics are usually tailored for the particular audience’s needs, and the course length varies as a result. While firearms are mentioned, this is not a class about firearms. An available module does discuss less-than-lethal options. Please call or email us with your needs, and we’ll tailor a class to meet them.
